I'm back!!!!!

My apologies I haven't been posting in a while just been a bit busy being a working mummy. So let's update you on exciting things that have been going on.

On July 9th my little lady turnt the big 3 so for her birthday me, her and her nana went to Disneyland Paris!!!!! We took the plane there which took 45minutes and because her nana told the pilot it was her birthday the next day Yen got to sit on the pilots chair and take pictures. The pilot then gave her a picture of the plane and a sticker. Yen was sooooo happy because that was her first time on a plane.

We stayed in Paris for two nights, on her actual birthday we went to the disneyland park. I brought a few birthday cards with us so she could open them before she got ready to wear her Cinderella dress.
Yen was so excited when we got there she couldn't wait to run around. Before we went in I saw a sign saying you wasn't allowed to use selfie sticks which I thought was odd.
It was so hot we kept buying water and taking breaks from walking lol. There was soooooooo much to see we might have to go back because one day in the park was defo not enough! They had all different kinds of food so it is well catered for everyone. As like all tourist places it was expensive but it didn't stop me from spoiling my Princess. We only went on one ride because the queues we're ridiculous, in the queue all I kept thinking was please Yen please don't ask for the toilet lol.

On the way back home we took the Eurostar (Yens first time) she loved it because she made new friends and they all watched Frozen. It's nice how children can make friends so easily. When we got to Kings Cross waiting at the customs was a nightmare there was soooooo many people with their children who we're getting very agitated. I think they need a better system in place everyone just looked fed up of waiting.

Yen has a new thing she is in to which is the ninja turtles!!!! She has been watching sooooo much of it she has learnt all the names and who is who it's amazing. She has been going on how Leonardo is her favourite so as a treat yesterday we went to John Lewis and we purchased the ninja shell for her to wear and a Leonardo figure. When we went home I went on amazon and ordered other Leonardo bits.

Saturday adventures

Today will hopefully be a good day for us. I'm planning to sort out Yens old clothes today and donate them to the RSPCA charity shop. I wanted to do a pre loved children's sale but there isn't one near by and I need more space at home. A few of her bits are on Gumtree already but I find selling clothes on there are a bit slow.
After taking the clothes charity shop I'm hopefully going to buy Yen some Salt Water sandals. I love the sandals, they are a bit pricey but they can go in water so I'm sold lol. A few children at Yens nursery have them and they can move about with ease and the front of the sandals don't get scuffed. They seem really child friendly not like some other sandals on the market.
Finally I'm hoping to go to homebase and get some indoor plants. For some reason I'm getting into plants lately, I'm getting the green finger bug in my old age. (Ok I'm not old I'm going to be 27 lol)

UPDATE!!!!

I am knackered! The sun decided to come out so I was sweating carrying the big ikea bag of clothes. The RSPCA charity shop was really greatful for the donation which was nice. Yen wanted to know why we donated the clothes, so I had a delightful time trying to explain to a nearly three year old about charity shops and what they do lol.
After the charity shop I went down the road and probably spent half an hour in there letting Yen try on various sandals, we managed to pick one thank god!!!

Last but not least we didn't go home base but we did go to get 2 indoor plants. I now have 3 new plants I've bought this week so in all I have 5. Here are my three new ones.

Treat for myself some Bare Minerals goodies!!!!

So I thought to treat myself with some new products. My friend told me she wanted to try this product so I found this shop and made her go in and take a seat. I knew she was going to kill me as soon as we left the shop but I didn't mind. As she was sitting down the lady who helped us was really nice she explained all the products she was using and why etc. At first I thought ahhh this woman is just doing her job SELL SELL SELL. I then took a seat after my friend after seeing her results, I wanted to experience some of this make up. The woman said we both didn't need foundations so she put Complexion rescue- Tinted hydrating gel cream. First she wiped my face with facial cleansing oil to lift off dirt and make up. She then used the Active cell renewal night serum which made my skin feel so soft and not tight. Usually after I wash my face my face feels tight. I suffer from eczema which is a pain when finding the right make up. After that she put on the tinted hydrating gel, it feels so light and natural and my skin doesn't look dry or feel tight which my other make up made me feel. It's been more than 5 hours since the make up has been put on and it looks exactly how the lady put it on. My face also feels so soft and not tight at all so far, I'm going to use the serum religiously hopefully I will see a change. The hydrating gel was £26.00 and the serum was £39.00
I also got this loyalty card which gets stamped each time you spend £20 and once the card is complete you get £20 off your next purchase.

Trip to buy the gorgeous ballet uniform

Off to Covent Garden we went in search of a shop called Capezio. As we entered the shop Yen was amazed with all the dance clothes and shoes. I saw the sign which indicated that the children section was downstairs. The down fall to this shop was it didn't have a lift so I had to leave Yens buggy upstairs. I didn't really feel comfortable in the shop, the person helping didn't seem child friendly if you know what I mean. In the end I could only get Yens ballet shoes and black leotard there. The person helping told us about other shops down the road that may have the rest of what Yen needed.
I should of went into the shop Sansha in the first place, the lady was really polite and child friendly. Yen threw a strop and didn't want to listen and the lady helped me out which was nice. I managed to get a pink leotard and a pink wrap around skirt.
When we got home Yen tried on the whole outfit and didn't want to take it off bless her.

Yens first ballet lesson

Yen loves to dance especially ballet, so I did some research on decent ballet classes that are not too far or expensive and it also had to be either a weekend or on my day off.
The classes I found usually start from 3yrs upwards but I found a brilliant one. It wasn't too far or expensive for the term (£75/term) AND they had classes on my day off AND they offered a free trial lesson RESULT!!!! I emailed the lady and she emailed back fast which was brill.
So the day came and Yen was soooooooo excited she couldn't wait to start. I loved how the teacher taught, she was polite and made Yen feel very welcomed. I loved her style of teaching it made it more fun. When the 30min session ended she gave out stickers and Yens sticker was for doing so well for her first lesson. Yen didn't want to go home, I asked if she wanted to go again she said yeah so I booked her in for the term woohoo!!!!!

Congratulations to Princess Kate and Prince William!!!!!

I'm not really into the royal family and stuff but there's something about Kate that I like, maybe it's because she kind of reminds me of Princess Diana maybe because she's so down to earth. I don't know I just like her, I am so glad she has just given birth to a baby girl. I'm happy for them especially for that gorgeous little boy George now he has a little sister. I just want to squeeze he's cheeks he's so cute. Enough of how cute he is lol I hope they name the baby girl Alice, I think it's such a nice name. Little Prince George and Princess Alice yeah I love it lol.

Yens TV interests and what she's learning

Yen is nearly three so her interests are now expanding thank god. Before it was just Peppa pig this Peppa pig that I thought I was going to go mad. Then Yen got into Ben and Holly the elf and Princess,  after a few episodes Yen knew all the characters name. With nursery I noticed she interacts more with the older children so she started getting into Spiderman and Princesses which isn't so bad. At nursery we have various Princess stories so that's how she knew about Cinderella which is now her favourite. On a Friday Yens nursery also does Spanish lessons, Yen went to one lesson which she enjoyed then after that she began refusing to go which was odd. Yens Spanish teacher then began encouraging her to go because she saw she enjoyed it. After some sticker encouragement which pretty much always works Yen began going again, Yen can now count to ten in Spanish and name a few colours in Spanish. I think this is where her love for Dora came from.
I use to think these children's programmes are a waste of time because they won't learn anything, but the few that Yen watches she's learnt a thing or two. For instants the tooth fairy she's learnt from Peppa. When we went to the museum I pointed at something and asked Yen if she knew what it was and she said yeah a gnome! When I asked her how she knew the answer I got was "theres one in Ben and Holly"

Exploring Museum of London

Today me, Yen and a very close friend of mine who is also Yens godmother went to the Museum of London. Me and Yen have never been before we usually go to the museums where most of the tourists go so this was different. Upon arriving we were greeted by a lovely lady who gave us information about the museum.
While walking around it wasn't so busy which was really good because one thing I hate is a super packed museum where I can't move the buggy anywhere. There was so much to see going through the different eras of London seeing the changes throughout the years. Yen really enjoyed exploring the museum asking lots of questions about new things she's seen. I'm glad she asks questions I love that she wants to learn new things.
Inside the museum is quiet big and spacious compared to looking at in from the outside. It was easy to find what you are looking for, in our case the toilets and FOOD lol. Going through the gift shop I bought Yen a harmonica, I know she wanted one before I just never got round to getting one for her. As soon as I gave it to her she couldn't stop playing it, she told us the music man at nursery has one. On the way home she was playing it so much she fell asleep with it in her hand bless her cotton socks!

New addition to the family a budgie called Charlie

We have a new pet budgie called Charlie, because it is still young I think about 7 weeks old I've given it a unisex name because at that young age its hard to tell the sex.
At work I was obsessing whether to get one or not, I asked my dad and he said no! (We already have 6 fishes and a cat) but for some reason I knew if I kept going on about it he would give in. It took him a few days to crack, I even got Yen on it too LOL.
After doing alot of research online and in books I thought if I dont get it now I never will, so looking on gumtree I was looking for the budgie for me (I wanted a blue one not too bright). I found a few I liked then all of a sudden I found someone who literally lived down the road from me I had to email him. After exchanging a few emails he agreed to save it for me as I still needed a cage etc.
Off to pets at home I went on Saturday morning bought the cage, couple toys, food, cuttle bone etc went back home set everything up then took Yen to her friends 4th birthday party from 1-3 which was good it had a bouncy castle woo hoo. After the party we picked up the budgie. The man I got it from was really polite and allowed me to let the budgie sit on my finger.
Taking it home I was so nervous what if the box drops and it flys away? What if it dies from shock? I was being so gentle with it and it got to my house safe and sound.
Getting it out the box was a nightmare I was being a chicken to take it out the box so got my mum to do it but she accidently let it fly around my room. I thought to myself o jheez I will never get it in the cage but my mum some how got it in the cage.
The bird cage is on my dressing table in my room so Cairo our cat is not allowed in there. I am so determined to form a bond with Charlie my budgie even Yen has been helpful with the feeding and setting up the cage. I told her its a still a baby so she speaks really gently to it calling it Charlie Do.

UPDATE!
Today is day 3 of having Charlie and already it lets me put my arm in the cage, stroke it's belly, feed it out my hand and even sit on my finger. Since Charlie has been home it hasn't made a sound only when taking it out the box on Saturday. While watching a video on YouTube Charlie heard a budgie chirp it started to chirp back bless.

In this picture below Charlie is sitting on my index finger while eating some millet!

UPDATE! (28/4/15)

So I've had Charlie just over a week now and I'm letting him/her out the cage but it doesn't seem to want to fly it just wants to perch or fall asleep I guess I'm going to have to be patient.

lovely stroll through Old Spitalfields market

Today me, Yen and my mum went down to Old Spitalfields market to have a look around and do something different on a Sunday. We haven't been there in a while so it was good, plus there was a bit of sun so that was great. I just love it there the food the stalls and the atmosphere. I'm definitely going back when it gets warmer there is just so much to see.

Walking past one stall there was different kinds of animal backpacks. Yen was really drawn to the cat one for some reason, she said it's like Cairo (our cat at home). I asked the lady how much it costs when she told me £25 I wanted to say o forget it but my mum being mum she gave me £20 and said put the rest in. The woman said to us she can't put the price down on the bag but she can have a free purse RESULT!!!!  Yen absolutely loves the bag which is great she better love the bag for the rest of her life lol.

There is sooooooo many food places down there it's amazing what's better than eating and shopping. I went for a nice combo of 4 chicken gyozas, salad and some edamame beans for £5 it was delish Yen had some festivals and fried plantain from the Carribean stall she actually said no to chicken this time. She even told the lady she has that food at her nanas house. They were really polite and welcoming which is really good.

Hair product for Yen ***NEW***

Today we went to Paks to find an alternative product for Yens hair. While doing research online I came across this brand seems like a good one for different types of curly hair http://www.curlykidshaircare.com.
Looking around in Paks was a bit daunting I must say, I didn't actually know what I was looking for and didn't know which product will be ok in Yens hair. I only bought the curl defining lotion to see how it goes and if Yens curls are looking fabulous I will be getting the shampoo and conditioner. While Yens hair is growing I want to have her hair out more often because the front is quiet thin and I want it to grow with her beautiful bouncy curls not thick frizzy bush. The lotion was only £2.99 for a 177ml bottle and smells amazing.

Liverpool!!!!

It's been a while since I last posted been a bit busy, on Thursday after work me and few girls went to Liverpool for the weekend. It was a nice child free weekend full of sight seeing drinking and photo taking not to mention shopping!!!
Last time I left Yen for a few days was last year when I went to Newcastle with the girls, I thought I would miss her a lot or she would would miss me but when I called my mum she was absolutely fine. When we went Manchester for the day I did do a bit of shopping and bought Yen a couple goodies.

First I bought her these two lovely ladies Elsa and Anna last time I checked she was obsessed with Frozen. I spoke to my mum and now Yen is requesting Cinderella apparently it's her new obsession. So while in Liverpool we went shopping again and bought her these goodies.

We stayed at a penthouse and it was beautiful I would really recommend going to Liverpool 100%. The people I met were so polite and I love the accent. I didn't get to go to the museums but the buildings looked amazing. For families or for that weekend drinking bender I loved it, in the day we were tourists seeing the dock and walking around shopping etc. At night the bars and music are good getting free shots with drinks felt like I was in Magaluf again minus the sun lol. The cab fares were the best way better than expensive London. I will definitely go back with Yen to see the aquarium, museums and sights.

My new addition to my tattoos!!!

So on Sunday I had my seventh tattoo done. I wanted part of the Filipino flag and some sampaguita flowers get a really Filipino inspired tattoo. When I payed my deposit all I said to Ken (the tattooist) was I want the sun and stars of the flag and some of the flowers going around it. As soon as I saw it I was like yes I love it, I always have faith in him this is my 3rd tattoo by him.

The pain was soooooooo bad I couldn't believe I went through it! To me this tattoo hurt more than child birth. I never screamed or cried but inside I thought I was going to pass out or something. I tried to put a film on but that clearly didn't work.

After half way through I thought I can do this!!! I've come so far I must keep going. Around 3 hours later Ken finally finished it. I am sooooo happy with it I recommend Ken and the tattoo shop he works in which is called Low rider tattoo in Bethnal Green London

Spiderman Party!!!

On Sunday Yen went to her friends 4th birthday party. I must say it was really good, there was a clown, Spider man, nice food, piñata, ball pool and a bouncy castle.
When the entertainment came Yen freaked out with the clown so she wanted to play outside on her own. I hope when she gets older she will be fine with clowns.
This was her 2nd party she has been to from children at her nursery. Yen had a great time she saw few of her friends she was really happy and I love that.
Me on the other hand I went out Saturday night with my girls had a good time. I got home about 6:00am had 2 hours sleep then went into mummy mode. I gave yen breakfast, played tea parties then got her ready for her party. I was soooooo exhausted but Yen was really excited about the party so I had to take her. After the party I dropped Yen off go her Nans then I went to get my tattoo done.

Sunday 15 March 2015

Technology and a 2 year old!!!!

When I was growing up I obviously didn't have the technology of today. It amazes me how Yen is not even 3 yet and she knows how to use the ipad. Yen can go onto youtube press history then click on paw patrol, hello kitty, Dora or whatever she likes. I never just leave her incase she goes on something she isn't meant to.

Not long ago I saw Yen with my cousins selfie stick and couldn't believe she actually knew what to do. I don't have a selfie stick so shes learning pretty fast!
Even though technology is evolving I'm not having Yen stuck to an ipad or tv. I will still be taking her outside exploring the world learn new things and socialise.

Mothers day!!!

Happy Mothers day to all the mummies!!!!

This year mothers day has been really lovely! I will spend it with a few of the females in my family. The gifts I received was amazing. At nursery Yen decorated a flower pot helped to plant it and here is her master piece!

I have this lovely necklace I will keep forever! It says 'love you to the moon and back' and on the back it says Yens name.

I also got this initial mug that I absolutely LOVE with some chocs!!! (I had to get Yen a mug too lol) I even got some money, feels like my birthday!

Even though Yen can be a big pain she is my pain and without her I wouldn't of been called a mummy. I'm so grateful to have an amazing little daughter and I wouldn't change her for the world. She has made me stronger and I will never give up!

Todays outfit

Today we went down Westend for some retail therapy so it had to be a comfy day. Yen didn't actually wear that hat today because it was too cold to wear her leather jacket ( that hat doesn't go with her other jackets) Anyways her hat is from H&M, her black cardigan and star print leggings are from Next. Yen is also wearing her Dr Martens.

Relaxing bath before the monster wakes up!

This morning I woke up earlier than usual, this was a perfect time to have a nice relaxing bath Yen was still asleep. I haven't had a relaxing bath for ages Yen would be banging down the door trying to come in to see what was going on. This is why I just have the usually shower, even then Yen would want to pull the shower curtain to play peek-a-boo.
I got in the bath and thought yes this is the life so peaceful. Boy was I wrong! I wasn't even in the bath 5 mins all I could hear was "mummy mummy I need a wee" I had to let her in. Half way getting her pj bottoms down she decides to start having a wee, that was the point where my blissful bath had ended. I quickly jumped up and had to put her on the toilet to do the rest, after all that I told her to go in the living room and I wouldn't be long.
Not even 5 mins later she comes back into the bathroom eating a doughnut I told her to eat what she wants and play. At this point I thought ahhhhh let me just push it and have a shower too, if she gets a sugar rush I will deal with that later it sounds selfish but this is my time!
When I came out she was sitting on the sofa with a Peppa pig book reading to herself bless her. Today we will be going Westend for a bit of retail therapy and fresh air of course!!!

Oopsy where's my passport?

On Monday I went to the housing with my passport. When I came home I put my letter on the table with my passport on top. At first I thought hhhmmmmm shall I leave this here? Yen likes to hide things. For some reason I didn't listen to the voice in my head and I left my passport on the table stupid me. I left the room and started to do the tie dye, I was thinking Yen is playing well she hasn't come to see what I'm doing. Boy was I wrong rule number 1 if a child is quiet they are up to something!
Before leaving to take Yen to her nans house I only realised then my passport was gone. In my head I was thinking I can't be dealing with this right now I will look for it tomorrow. Tuesday came and gone at this point if my mum can't find it bloody hell it must be gone or Yen must of thrown it in the bin. I was starting to worry a little because if it's in the bin any random would take it and do some kind of fraud!
Today I looked in every toy box, in between books, under the sofa, in her Peppa pig DVD cases pretty much anywhere a 2 year old can shove a passport. My mum wanted me to go search the bins outside I was thinking she's crazy. I sat there thinking where could she of put it. A part of me was starting to get worried more then I hear my mum say I found it!!!! I turn around and in her hand was my lovely passport. I don't think I've ever been happier to see my passport, I asked her where did she find it because where she was I already looked. My mum then told me it was in the Frozen DVD case!!!!!!

Note to self listen to the voice in your head when it comes to important documents!!!

Getting ready for the sun with tie dye!!!!

Today I went down Mare Street and popped into Primark. I was thinking before I get lazy let me do some tie dye, get our tops ready for some sun and festivals for me. I think I went a bit OTT in the shop though I just kept picking up anything plain white. I ended up getting Yen four t-shirts and three vests, I got three t-shirts and two vest tops for myself.

So to get things started first I pinched the middle of the vest then kept twisting it. Once it's in a kind of circular shape start tying the elastic bands round making sure they are tight and secure.

In each container I added five table spoons of Dylon salt you can use normal salt too it works well. Then added the Dylon dye with warm water.

After that just get creative and get dipping. Making sure you leave the top soaked into the dye give a little squeeze then move on and add other colours.

In the left pic I just used black dye just to see how that goes. The rest I mixed the colours which were orange, red, yellow and green. They say leave it for 6-8 hours before you rinse out the items in cold water till the water runs normal then stick it on a cold wash. I personally don't do that I left it for two hours lol then rinsed it left to dry then stuck it on a cold wash.

Productive Sunday!!!

Poorly Yen couldn't go out yesterday so today I took her out for a bit of fresh air and a cuppa with my friends. We met one of our friends in the local book shop. I had a look around and saw few books you can get with the book token from world book day. I forgot Yens token so I bought her book for £1. I asked Yen to choose a book and she picked a dinosaur one. I will use my token next time hopefully I remember it!

We met up with another friend before we got to our local park. I asked Yen how she was feeling and she told me "much better thank you" bless her cotton socks. We had a scoot around and bumped into a few parents from nursery. It started to get a bit chilly so we didn't stay out for long, I also had to give Yen her dose of calpol.

On the way home we popped into a few shops and my friends bought few bits. We went into one shop that sells Mini Rodini clothing and I just fell in love with the crocodile print jacket I saw online the only problem is the jacket is £70. I also wanted the crocodile print jumper and bottoms but those were £36 each. Talk about trying to kill my pockets. I sooooooo want them though I might have to wait for them to go on sale or just buy it YOLO lol.

We also ended up in my fave shop Jojo Maman Bébé. I bought Yen a striped long sleeve top and picked up a leaflet for From a mother to another. What you basically have to do is collect unwanted clothes from 0-6 years, sort it into size sex and season complete the form and deliver to one of the Jojo Maman Bébé stores.

The store will then re-pack the bag of gifts in a gift box and deliver to those in need and as a thank you for every pack you will receive a £5 Jojo voucher! For more information visit community.jojomamanbebe.co.uk

Indoor planting with a poorly 2 year old

Last night my little lady was coughing and woke up at 4am crying feeling really hot. Super mum to the rescue I took her temperature which was 39.4 and gave her nurofen and lots of fluids. This morning she still wasn't feeling 100% so I thought planting will be a good idea. I popped down to the local pound shop and bought the essentials and ended up in the haberdashery to get some dylon dye. I think I might do some tie dye later.

I explained to Yen what each item was and showed her the different seeds. I even made little name tags for each pot. Yen helped to put the soil in and sow the seeds. It will probably take a while before anything happens but at least it was something different to do.
